Top 6 Shopping Malls in Johor Bahru

"What to do during this weekends or on this public holiday?"

This is a common question among Singaporeans. If you are like some of us who may have visited all the attractions and shopping malls in Singapore, you will explore outside Singapore. The nearest neighbour of Singapore is Johor Bahru (JB), southern state of Malaysia. Singapore and Malaysia is just divided by the Straits of Johor. Singaporeans can just cross over to Malaysia via the Causeway or Second Link road. If you drive, you may like to check out the traffic before heading over HERE. There are times where you will need at least 2 hours or more to cross and clear the customs especially on peak hours. For non-drivers, you can either take bus or train to enter to JB. You can buy the train tickets early online HERE.

With the current exchange rate (SG/MYR) of 3.03, it has become very attractive for Singaporeans to dine and shop there. The hotels are also more affordable for us. You can easily find hotels or apartments for less than S$100 per night. However, the quality of the hotels are not very well-maintained, unless you choose newer hotels. JB is a great staycation for Singaporeans. If you love shopping, you must check out the following malls:

I have compared those malls based a set of criteria (convenience, varieties of shops, prices of products, ambience) to come out with the ranking. Of course, that is my view. You may disagree and think differently.

If the six malls are not enough for you, you can also visit other shopping malls such as Capital City, Aeon Mall Bukit Indah, Sutera Mall and Holiday Plaza. You may bring along a small luggage for the ease of carrying your shopping items around.
